Police in Los Angeles discovered a prostitution ring in full swing at Hidden Valley golf course and detained several golfers after spying on sex romps in the fairways,
More than 100 people were questioned at the course in Norco, 40 miles east of Los Angeles, after undercover cops from the Riverside County Deputies department saw women selling their services on the greens and players having sex with prostitutes as others hit balls just a few feet away.
The club was shut down for several hours as police rounded up dozens of golfers and interviewed them in the car park. Among those hauled away for questioning were 15 women and several club employees.
No arrests were made but 40 people were held overnight for questioning, police said.
Although the 18-hole golf course is open to the public, the illegal sex acts were taking place near marquees set up for a private tournament.
Investigators said the club had been under video surveillance for the past three weeks after they received information from local residents that scantily clad women were seen working at the course.
