Bernhard Langer throws his toys out the pram at Regions Tradition

Bernhard Langer had a complete meltdown at the PGA Tour Champions event this week after missing a short, simple tap-in putt.

Langer, 65, is playing in Birmingham, Alabama this week for the Regions Tradition tournament at Greystone Golf and Country Club.

He shot a 3-under par 69 and was two strokes back of the leaders in a tie for eighth after the first round.

But despite carding a bogey-free day, there were still a few bumps along the way for the two-time Masters champion.

During his round on Thursday, Langer had an easy, tap-in putt for birdie that couldn't have been more than a foot or two long.

He set himself up for the putt, but as he brought his putter back behind the ball, the former Ryder Cup player produced an atrocious putting stroke and missed the tap-in.

"That was not a good stroke from the get go," the commentator is heard saying immediately after the ball missed the cup.

Langer, for the most part, keeps his composure before successfully tapping in the par putt that he had left.

And that's when things escalated.

Once the ball dropped, Langer began to walk off the green, but quite quickly after was seen aggressively throwing his putter at his bag.

He then walked off the green and under the rope - and for a split second it appeared we were about to have another golf rope-related incident in professional golf.

LIV Golf's Bryson DeChambeau famously ran into a rope at the LIV Golf Chicago event last fall.

But his meltdown still didn't end there.

Before the clip ends, Bernard is also seen chucking his ball into the trees.

"There goes the ball!" the commentators echoed in disbelief.

Some Twitter users were also quick to point out underneath the video that it appears Langer was not anchoring his putter nearly as much as he has in the past.

His normal set up has resulted in cheating allegations as recently as February.
