Patrick Cantlay took his chance on Sunday at Muirfield Village by emerging victorious against Collin Morikawa to win the Memorial Tournament.

The American pair battled alongside Scottie Scheffler on the back nine in Ohio, but Cantlay and Morikawa both shot 71 to reach 13-under-par for the week and enter into a playoff.

Although Morikawa found the fairway and Cantlay found the rough with their tee shots, Cantlay came out on top by making a par and Morikawa could only manage a bogey.

This was the World No. 15's second career win at the event hosted by Jack Nicklaus and as ever, the Golden Bear was there on the final green to congratulate the winner.

It was a very strange week at the Memorial Tournament which saw severe weather delays and an unprecedented withdrawal from Jon Rahm.

The overall purse for the week was $9.3 million and Cantlay picked up $1,674,000, which was roughly $600,000 more than his playoff opponent Morikawa.
