PGA Tour pro responds to golf fan urging him to play faster!

As pace of play continues to be a hot topic surrounding the PGA Tour, one pro has taken to Twitter to defend himself after a golf fan urged him to start playing faster.

After Brooks Koepka pointed out that he and Jon Rahm repeatedly had to wait for the group ahead of them - Patrick Cantlay and Viktor Hovland - to play during Sunday's final round of The Masters, pace of play has been the main topic of discussion in the golf world.

Cantlay, who was in contention again this past week in South Carolina for the RBC Heritage, couldn't further escape the slow play criticism as even Sky Sports Golf's Andrew Coltart pointed out the 31-year-old's pace during Sunday's final round.

Cantlay was playing in the final group alongside eventual winner Matt Fitzpatrick and 2022 winner Jordan Spieth, who also apparently were unhappy with Cantlay's pace on Sunday.

After Action Network's Jason Sobel tweeted out that the final group had taken five hours and 13 minutes to complete their final round, one golf fan added two more players to the slow play list with Cantlay.

The tweet called out PGA Tour pros Andrew Novak and Trevor Cone, who are set to play as a team in this week's Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Novak promptly responded to the tweet on Monday, joking that the pair would be running during their rounds at TPC Louisiana to pick up the pace.

Novak will be starting in his 13th PGA Tour event with the Zurich Classic this week while his teammate, Cone, will be playing in his 14th.

Cone, 31, is currently in his rookie season after graduating from the Korn Ferry Tour, while Novak, 28, is currently in his second season on the PGA Tour.
