Why a $423,370 payday for Jon Rahm at Mexico Open would be mind-boggling!

Jon Rahm has the opportunity to match or better the season money record set by Scottie Scheffler this weekend at the Mexico Open.

It will come as absolutely no surprise to you that 28-year-old Rahm has earned a simply obscene amount of money in 2023.

He's won four times. Two of those victories (the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii and The American Express) came back-to-back at the start of the year.

Before he took down the 87th Masters, he also clinched his 10th PGA Tour victory at the Genesis Invitational, hosted by Tiger Woods.

It had designated status and therefore Rahm scooped a bumper pay cheque for a whopping $3.6m.

All in all, Rahm has amassed a mind-boggling $13,623,540 in official money in 2023.

That means he is $423,370 from matching the mark set by Scheffler in his breakout 2022 season, where the American pocketed $14.05m.
