DP World Tour winner Richard Mansell has confirmed he'll be out of action for a few months after undergoing surgery on his hip.

The Englishman, 30, has endured a particularly frustrating few months.

He has not teed up since the Dubai Invitational in early January and even then was forced to withdraw because of an ankle injury.

Back then, Mansell said he had hoped to be ready to play at the Magical Kenya Open this week.

But a hip injury has persisted and, according to Mansell, surgery was "the only option".

On Tuesday, Mansell wrote on X: "Going to be waiting a little longer to finish 18 holes.

"Rough start to 2026 golfing season but lots to be grateful for.

"Been struggling with my left hip for a while now and I had tried everything to avoid surgery but it was really the only option left.

"It has gone really well and I am counting down the days till I'm back doing what I love and was born to.

"Never been more determined to come out of this stronger, fitter and ready to compete.

"Thanks for all the support, it's really appreciated."

Mansell joined the DP World Tour in 2021.

He has enjoyed steady progression over the last few years and recorded several near misses before winning his first title at the 2025 Porsche Singapore Classic.

He is currently 173rd in the Official World Golf Ranking
