Eugenio Chacarra lands back-to-back wins on DP World Tour with Italian Open victory
Spain's Eugenio Chacarra continues to prove he's a force to be reckoned with as he makes it back-to-back wins on the DP World Tour in Italy.

Spain's Eugenio Chacarra captured his second straight DP World Tour title with an impressive victory at the Italian Open.
Chacarra, 26, closed with a brilliant seven-under 64 to finish the week 24-under par and five strokes clear of England's Matt Wallace.
Chacarra produced fireworks on Sunday at Circolo Golf Torino with five birdies on his first 10 holes, before draining a stunning 30-foot putt for eagle on the par-5 15th to take full control of the tournament.
Wallace did his best to stay in touch with the Spaniard, but the 36-year-old Englishman could only manage a 67 as he fell short of a sixth career title on the DP World Tour and a place at The Open.
With only one Open Championship ticket available to unexempt players in the fourth and final major of the season, the victory also locked up Chacarra's debut appearance at The Open at Royal Birkdale next month.
The win banks Chacarra a cool $510,000 - check out the full prize money payouts from the Italian Open.
Chacarra has been in the form of his life in 2026, having also won the KLM Open in his last start earlier this month.
Two years ago, Chacarra was still representing Sergio Garcia's Fireballs GC on the LIV Golf League.
He excelled early on with an individual victory at LIV Golf Bangkok 2022, but would then depart the league after the 2024 season.
The 26-year-old Spaniard, however, has not looked back since switching back to the DP World Tour in 2025.
Chacarra's latest win marks his third DP World Tour title over the last 15 months.
He won his first DP World Tour title at the Hero Indian Open in March 2025.
With two wins and five top-10 finishes in the bank already this season, including six consecutive top-25s, Chacarra is now well on the way to locking up his PGA Tour card for 2027 via the DP World Tour Rankings.
Chacarra now vaults up to third behind Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy in the season-long Race to Dubai.
The top 10 players on the DP World Tour Rankings not otherwise exempt to play on the PGA Tour will each earn cards for next season.
"Yeah, feeling great, winning is always fun but this is what we work for, very proud of myself and how I managed myself today," said Chacarra.
"I have been playing some solid golf, really enjoying my golf," he added.
"I am proving myself now, I was one of the best amateurs in America, and I want to be one of the best players in professional golf now."
Sky Sports Golf's on-course commentator goes even further than just a PGA Tour card for Chacarra in 2027.
"I wouldn't mind Chacarra on the European Ryder Cup team," said Spence, winner of two European Tour titles.
Joaquin Niemann, captain of Torque GC on the LIV Golf League, made a rare appearance on the DP World Tour and will be leaving Italy thinking what might have been having held a five-shot lead at one stage during Saturday's third round.
But the 27-year-old Chilean cut a frustrated figure in the final group on Sunday as he closed with a 68 to finish in solo third on 18-under par.
Niemann was docked two shots for throwing his club at last week's U.S. Open, and he can count himself a tad fortunate not to have received a similar penalty when thumping his club three times into the 9th tee box after an errant drive during the final round at the Italian Open.
Sweden's Joakim Lagergren flew home with a stunning 63 to take solo fourth on 17-under par, while Spanish star Angel Ayora (68) rounded out the top five on 16-under par.
