Tommy Fleetwood sends personal message to DP World Tour golfer
European Ryder Cup hero Tommy Fleetwood has sent a personal message of congratulations to James Morrison after the Englishman regained his DP World Tour card.
England's Tommy Fleetwood was among those to congratulate James Morrison after the 40-year-old got his DP World Tour card back.
A tearful Morrison thought he was playing in his final tournament as a professional golfer last week at the HotelPlanner Tour's Rolex Grand Final in Mallorca.
Morrison, a Tour veteran with more than 400 starts on the European-based circuit, needed at least a top-four finish to guarantee a return.
And he did just that, finishing three shots clear of Italy's Stefano Mazzoli with his 13-year-old son Finley carrying his clubs.
It meant he climbed more than 30 places in the rankings to end the season as one of 20 players to guarantee their return to the DP World Tour.
“This was going to be my last event.”

Victory came a year after Morrison endured a miserable season, missing 14 cuts and losing his full-time status for the first time in 15 years.
He said before hitting a shot last week that golf was "not the be all and end all" and whatever happened it was going to be a "dream week" given his wife and son were there supporting him.
Fleetwood, who is in field for the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship this week, told the DP World Tour's official website that he related to the moment so much.
He watched the drama unfold with his wife Clare.
"Unbelievable," said Fleetwood. "So, so happy for you. I think you've got a lot of words of wisdom but more importantly, [what an] unbelievably special moment for you and your family.
"Me and Clare were watching it on the couch and I said, 'I can remember Finley being born'. That was very, very special and, you know, I just relate to it so much.
"I'm so happy for you and can't wait to see you out here again."
Richard Mansell, Laurie Canter and Marco Penge also passed on their congratulations.

Fleetwood in star-studded field
Fleetwood is playing in his second event since helping Europe to a dramatic away victory at the 2025 Ryder Cup.
The 34-year-old contributed four points to Europe's total and immediately backed up his performance with another win in India.
It allowed Fleetwood to qualify for this week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
Only the top 70 players in the Race to Dubai rankings are eligible to compete.
Ludvig Aberg and Shane Lowry finished outside the number but are allowed to play as they qualified for the Ryder Cup team.
Sepp Straka has decided not to play as he is at home caring for his sick son.
Rory McIlroy is bidding to win his seventh Race to Dubai title.
All the action gets underway on Thursday.
