LIV Golf Andalucia: New dad Tyrrell Hatton says fiery temper won't change after taking early lead
England's Tyrrell Hatton shares the lead after 18 holes at LIV Golf's stop in Spain.
New dad Tyrrell Hatton insisted he won't be calming down on the course anytime soon after sharing the early lead with Scott Vincent at LIV Golf Andalucia.
Hatton and Zimbabwe's Vincent, 34, both recorded four under 67s at Valderrama on Thursday to lead Belgium's Thomas Detry by one stroke.
Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau and home favourites Davig Puig and Sergio Garcia are also inside the top 10 after 18 holes.
Hatton was making his first appearance since his wife Emily gave birth to their first child last week.
The Englishman told reporters that despite his shifting priorities he is unlikely to mellow.
"Once we come up short on three, I was already moaning about that," Hatton said.
"And then I three-putted, so it just gave me something else to moan about.
"I am very good at moaning, and I will continue that, I think."
Hatton said his wife gave birth to a baby girl.
Most of the time, Hatton said, he wanted to be inside the house helping out and it has limited his practice.
"Once we got her home, it was a lot harder than I expected it to be," he said.
"I tried to practice every day, and by practice, I mean, I literally hit between 35 and 75 balls.
"I've got a swing studio at the house, so that makes it a little bit easier.
"For the rest of the time, I was trying to be in the house helping Emily.
"She ended up having a C-section, so her movement was somewhat limited.
"I just tried my best to be there and support her and obviously look after our daughter."
Hatton's father and coach came over to help look at his swing.
"I was somewhat nervous of how bad it could be today," added Hatton.
"I just tried to have a single thought and not overcomplicate it out there.
"My warmup was better, and that gave me a little bit of confidence to just trust it out on the golf course, and I felt like I hit a lot of good shots in the end."
Valderrama is known as one of the toughest courses and only 14 players in the 57-man field managed to break par on day one.
"You have to be very accurate, and this golf course demands a lot," said Hatton.
"It's kind of stood the test of time, to be honest, and it's an iconic venue.
"Although I can lose even more hair around here than I would like, it's always good to be back here."

LIV Golf Andalucia is being played amid a crucial period for the breakaway tour.
It is understood the league have taken their product to market to try and secure fresh investment for the 2027 season.
LIV's primary backers, Saudi Arabia's PIF, announced in March they would no longer fund the venture after the end of the season.
The aforementioned DeChambeau has played a key role in LIV's attempts for survival and has personally been involved in pitches to potential investors.
"I've been helping a little bit behind the scenes, and I think that there's a lot of benefit to capital coming into this league," DeChambeau said.
"I think one of the things people don't realise is the team franchise valuations.
"We get the top co right and we get what we're doing on the top side right, I think the momentum could be endless for us."
