The 107th edition of the PGA Championship features 15 LIV Golf players.

Leading the charge for the breakaway tour at the second men's major of the year are Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Brooks Koepka.

DeChambeau, the reigning U.S. Open champion, is looking to win his third major championship overall.

Koepka could leapfrog newly-crowned Masters champ Rory McIlroy by lifting the Wanamaker Trophy on Sunday to claim his sixth major.

Three-time PGA Championship winner Koepka has not been at the races so far this season and missed the cut at the 2025 Masters.

Should Rahm triumph, it would represent his first victory in one of the big four since he joined the PIF-backed breakaway in December 2023.

Elsewhere, there are a number of LIV Golf recruits who believe they have what it takes to contended in North Carolina this week.

Rahm's European Ryder Cup teammate Tyrrell Hatton is looking to improve on his top-15 finish at the 2025 Masters.

Former green jacket winner Patrick Reed also has reason for optimism given he finished solo third at Augusta National.

As many as three LIV players were among the golfers receiving special invitations from the PGA of America.

Dustin Johnson's exemption into the major was up by officials deemed the former Masters champ worthy of a spot in the 156-man field.

The decision to award Johnson a spot in the field means the American continues his steak of playing in every major since 2009.

Spanish youngster David Puig and Rahm's Legion XIII teammate Tom McKibbin were also invited to play.

Six-time major champion Phil Mickelson will also harbour hopes he can contend once again despite the weather forecast.

No fans were allowed on the course on Monday because of inclement weather and forecasts predict more rain and thundery showers later in the week.

The late starters on Thursday could also be hit by heavy winds and rain and therefore the course conditions will place a premium on driving the ball well.

Mickelson won the 2021 PGA Championship at Kiawah Island to become the oldest winner of any major.
