England's Charley Hull strung together her second straight runner-up finish around the world following another close call at the Aramco Houston Championship on the Ladies European Tour.

Hull, 29, was making her first start on the LET since finishing tied second at the AIG Women's Open at Royal Porthcawl in early August.

The English superstar had been forced out of action the past four weeks as a result of sustaining ankle ligament damage ahead of the PIF London Championship at Centurion Club.

Hull fell over a curb on the eve of her home event and she had to wear a protective boot in order to recover.

But Hull was back on her feet and once again playing some brilliant golf in Houston.

The World No.10 entered the final round four shots off the pace at Golfcrest Country Club.

She quickly erased the deficit to just one shot in the early stages on Sunday after playing the first three holes in 3-under par.

The birdies dried up on the front nine but Hull birdied both of the par-5s on the back nine to close with a flawless 5-under 67 and set the clubhouse target of 11-under par.

Unfortunately it was not good enough to win the title though as Spain's Nuria Iturrioz birdied three of the last five holes to finish two shots clear of Hull.

Overnight leader Carlota Ciganda could only manage a 71 to share second place with Hull.

Hull was going in search of her fifth LET title and a third Aramco win.

While no doubt frustrated to finish second for a second time in a row, Hull can certainly the positives as she heads into the closing stretch of the LPGA season that ends at the CME Group Tour Championship from 20-23 November.

Hull ranks 31st in the Race to CME Globe.

The victory for Iturrioz saw her match Hull for five wins on the LET.

It was her first win in over two years.

Iturrioz, like Hull, is 29 years old.
