Play suspended at KPMG Women's PGA as storms delay final round at Hazeltine
Final round of KPMG Women's PGA Championship suspended due to severe weather as Nelly Korda bids to land a third straight major title, but she will have to do it from off the pace.
Play in the final round of the KPMG Women's PGA Championship was delayed on Sunday morning after severe weather impacted Hazeltine National.
Tournament officials suspended the final round after storms moved into the area, forcing the practice facilities to close at 7:17 a.m. CT.
None of the players were able to start their final round on Sunday morning.
An update on conditions is expected at 9 a.m. CT, with forecasts warning of further showers and thunderstorms before midday.
Organisers had planned for an early finish, with players teeing off in groups of three from both the first and 10th tees to ensure the championship concluded by 3 p.m. CT ahead of NBC's coverage of the final round of the Travelers Championship.
The opening group had originally been due to start at 7:24 a.m. local time, while the final pairing featuring Haeran Ryu, Brooke Henderson and Ina Yoon was scheduled to tee off at 9:25 a.m.
But that will no longer be the case.
Ryu takes a one-shot lead into the final round at 11-under par, with Henderson her closest challenger on 10-under par.
Ina Yoon begins the day in third place, while world number one Nelly Korda is looking to complete a remarkable run of three consecutive major championship victories this season.
Korda starts the final round at seven-under par, four shots off Ryu's lead.
