Brooks Koepka is back on the PGA Tour after four seasons with LIV Golf

The 36-year-old quit the PIF-backed breakaway in December 2025 and was allowed to comeback to the American circuit under a new scheme.

Depending on your point of view, the "returning members programme" came with significant financial penalties.

It also had a heavy impact on his playing schedule.

Part of the deal Koepka agreed with PGA Tour officials is that he is unable to accept sponsor invites into the bumper prize purse, limited field, signature events.

Koepka must play his way into them on merit.

He also must play a minimum number of 15 PGA Tour-sanctioned events in order to keep his playing rights in 2027.

That means Koepka could be playing in events for the very first time.

The major championships - and The Players at TPC Sawgrass - will go towards the total of 15.

Koepka's first start on the PGA Tour in 2026 will be the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines.

He will play the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale a week later.

And he has already committed to the Cogizant Classic in late February.

What was Brooks Koepka's punishment?

Brooks Koepka agreed to make a $5m charitable donation at the PGA Tour's request as part of the terms of his return.

Elsewhere, he is ineligible for the PGA Tour's equity programme grants for five years - estimated to cost him between $50-85m.

Koepka won't receive FedEx Cup bonus money this year, but if he qualifies for the play-offs he'll be able to collect prize money.

He can play in the signature events, but has to qualify for them on merit.

One way Koepka can do that is to win, or qualify via the Aon Swing 5. It rewards the "trending" players over a series of tournaments with spots in the signature events.

This year, there are eight signature events. They are:
