PGA Tour star Marco Penge and wife Sophie welcome second child Romeo
Marco Penge shares joyful baby news after returning home from Genesis Invitational.
Marco Penge has confirmed the happy arrival of his second child, with the PGA Tour star and his wife Sophie welcoming a baby boy named Romeo.
Romeo was born on 24 February. Penge shared the news on Instagram alongside a photo of Sophie and their newborn son, simply captioning it: “Romeo Penge 24/02/26.”
The 27-year-old Englishman last week finished tied 16th at the Genesis Invitational at Riviera, marking the best result of his rookie PGA Tour campaign.
Penge earned his PGA Tour card via the DP World Tour Rankings in 2025 following a standout campaign that included three victories and pushing Rory Mcilroy close to the Race to Dubai.
Marco and Sophie, who married in 2023, welcomed their first son, Enzo, in 2024. They now celebrate becoming a family of four.
Penge has this year moved to the United States to compete full-time on the PGA Tour.
The World No.34 is based in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he has set up a new home with his family.
Penge revealed he was turned away from “a couple” of golf clubs following his recent move to Florida, admitting he may have been “a little too casual” as he settled into life in the United States.
Who is Marco Penge's wife?
Sophie, formerly Sophie Lamb, enjoyed a distinguished amateur career of her own.
She claimed back-to-back Fairhaven Trophies in 2013 and 2014 — the same years Penge won the boys’ event — before the pair went on to win the prestigious Sunningdale Foursomes together in 2016.
Remarkably, Penge battled food poisoning on the final day of that victory.
Reflecting at the time, Penge said: “We really enjoyed the experience and can’t wait to see our names on the champions board at Sunningdale. To win an event like this at the age of 17 and 18 is a great achievement for both of us and something we will remember.”
Lamb’s amateur résumé also includes victory at the 2016 British Women’s Stroke Play Championship, low amateur honours at the 2017 Women’s Open, and selection for the 2018 Curtis Cup.
She later turned professional, competing for two years before announcing her retirement in 2022, citing the emotional highs and lows of tour life.
Since stepping away from competitive golf, she has worked as an operations and marketing co-ordinator at Per4m Health.
The Penge family reside in Clitheroe, Lancashire — Sophie’s hometown — while Marco was born in Crawley.
