Zurich Classic Prize Money Payouts: How much the Fitzpatrick brothers and others earned at TPC Louisiana
Alex Fitzpatrick receives a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour as he teams up with his older brother Matt Fitzpatrick to win the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
Matt and Alex Fitzpatrick secured a dramatic one-shot victory at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the PGA Tour’s only official team event at TPC Louisiana.
The English brothers combined brilliantly all week, but it was Matt who produced the defining moment on the 72nd hole.
From a greenside bunker at the par-5 18th, the world number three played a sensational splash shot to within a foot of the hole, leaving his younger brother Alex with the simplest of tap-ins to seal a birdie and the title.
Their winning total of 31-under par proved just enough to edge out the Norwegian pairing of Kristoffer Reitan and Kris Ventura, alongside Americans Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer, who shared second place.
Reitan and Ventura mounted a late charge with a stunning eagle on the final hole, while Smalley and Springer were left to reflect on a costly three-putt bogey at the 17th that ultimately denied them a share of victory. Still, both players walked away with just under $500,000 each.
The triumph continues a remarkable run for Matt Fitzpatrick, marking his third win in his last four starts and underlining his status as one of the world’s elite players. Yet the significance of this victory extended far beyond form.
For Alex Fitzpatrick, who entered the tournament on an invitation courtesy of his older brother, the win changes everything. He now secures a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour, along with entry into the remaining Signature Events this season, including this week’s Cadillac Championship.
Matt later admitted the win ranked alongside his 2022 U.S. Open triumph in terms of personal significance — a reflection of the emotional weight of sharing the moment with his brother.
Both Fitzpatrick brothers earn a whopping $1,372,750 each for their win.
