Matt Fitzpatrick has compared winning the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside his younger brother to rivalling his US Open triumph of 2022, after the victory ensured Alex earned his PGA Tour card.
The victory marks Matt's third win in his last four starts on the PGA Tour, and it's a second in a row for Alex, who won the Hero Indian Open over on the DP World Tour last month. But even more importantly for Alex, his latest win now earns him a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour.
Alex, 27, will now also get to compete in all the remaining Signature Events on the PGA Tour this season, one of which starts on Thursday.
He will also become eligible to play in the PGA Championship next month, and he will also qualify for next year's Players Championship.
The win marks the fifth of Matt's PGA Tour career.
Both players earn a whopping $1.37m.
The brothers led by four shots entering the final round foursomes, the toughest of the tournament's two formats.
But a back-nine wobble that included a double bogey on the par-4 12th and a bogey on the par-3 14th saw them fall into a share of the lead.
Kristoffer Reitan and Kris Ventura and Alex Smalley and Hayden Springer set a clubhouse target of 30-under par up ahead of them, with Reitan and Ventura making a stunning eagle on the par-5 18th.
But standing on the final tee after having made pars on 16 and 17, the Fitzpatrick brothers knew a birdie on one of the easiest holes at TPC Louisiana would seal the deal.
Matt, 31, split the fairway with a terrific tee shot and then Alex found the front greenside bunker.
The world number three then stepped in and played arguably the shot of the tournament under the pressure, splashing the ball out to a foot.
Alex tapped the ball home and it led to emotional scenes on the green.
Matt and Alex gave each other a huge hug with tears in their eyes.
"Yeah, it was a struggle out there and I was doing zero to help him apart from the par putt on 15," Matt told Sky Sports Golf's Rich Beem on the 18th green.
"I wasn't providing much support but he was fantastic on that back nine, just as he was yesterday as well.
"We just wanted to have a chance on the last, and to hit a bunker shot like that to give him an easy tap-in there."
Beem then asked Alex for his initial reaction on becoming a PGA Tour winner for the first time.
"I don't know, it won't sink in and I have got a flight booked for Turkey tonight," said Alex, has he put his hands to his head.
"It's amazing to be here with him, Mum and Dad, just a lot of hard work. I can't believe we've done it."
On sharing this special moment with his big brother, Alex added: "I think this is as good as it gets."
Matt later compared this moment to closely matching how he felt when he won his first major at the 2022 US Open.
"I don't think it gets better than this," said Fitzpatrick during his post-tournament press conference.
"For me personally, this is just under winning a major."
