Justin Rose's caddie slams ‘extortionate’ Ryder Cup 2027 ticket prices at Adare Manor

Justin Rose’s caddie Mark Fulcher blasts daily €499 Ryder Cup tickets at Adare Manor, labelling it a “sad day” for fans.

Justin Rose’s long-time caddie Mark Fulcher has hit out at the “extortionately high prices” set for the 2027 Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, warning the cost risks pricing out loyal golf fans.

Fulcher, widely known on Tour as ‘Fooch’, did not hold back in his criticism after organisers this week confirmed Ryder Cup matchday tickets will cost a whopping €499 each.

Based on current exchange rates, €499 is approximately £435 / $540

“It’s so disappointing to see such extortionately high prices for the 2027 Ryder Cup,” Fulcher wrote in an Instagram post.

“[I've] been lucky enough to caddy in a few and it’s amazing how incredible our support is. Seems to be a trend in sport to bleed true fans dry… sad day.”

Fooch then doubled down on his stance in response to GolfMagic's own Instagram post (below), adding: “Tickets twice the price of Italy four years ago... can only say how disappointing this is to hear... poor.”

The €499 price point makes the 2027 edition in Ireland the most expensive Ryder Cup ever staged in Europe, marking a sharp rise from the €250 fans paid for the 2023 contest in Rome.

It still falls short of the $750 (€638) charged for the 2025 event at Bethpage Black in the United States, but represents a significant jump for European supporters.

And as Fooch highlights in his post to GolfMagic, the matchday ticket prices for the 2027 Ryder Cup are four times up on Marco Simone, Italy, in 2023.

Despite his frustration off the course, Fulcher is expected to be part of the action once again. The veteran caddie, who has worked with Justin Rose since 2008, has already been on the bag for seven Ryder Cups and hopes to add an eighth appearance in 2027.

Fulcher, who has also caddied in seven Solheim Cups and a Presidents Cup, has played a key role in Rose’s career highlights thus far, including victory at the 2013 U.S. Open, Olympic gold at Rio 2016, and the FedEx Cup title in 2018, the same year the Englishman reached world number one.

After undergoing heart surgery in 2019, Fulcher returned to the bag and reunited with Rose for Europe’s Ryder Cup victories in 2023 and 2025.

Fulcher won most recently alongside Rose when the English golf legend captured his second career Farmers Insurance Open title in February.

They also came agonisingly close to a first Masters title two weeks ago when Rose led heading into the back nine Sunday only to finish tied third and two shots behind Rory McIlroy, who became just the fourth player in history to successfully defend the coveted Green Jacket.

While criticism of ticket pricing continues to grow, organisers have outlined plans for a significantly expanded fan experience at Adare Manor.

The 2027 event will mark the 100th anniversary of the Ryder Cup and only the second time Ireland has hosted the competition, following the 2006 edition at The K Club.

Fans attending can expect record infrastructure, including 20,000 grandstand seats, increased big-screen coverage, and even an on-site campsite designed to create a festival atmosphere throughout the week.

There is some relief for Irish supporters, with residents on the island of Ireland given priority access to tickets from 11am (BST) on Friday 24 April.

A limited number of general admission tickets for the three matchdays will be available at €499, while practice days offer more affordable options, starting from €89 earlier in the week and €179 for Thursday’s opening ceremony.

Under-16s can attend practice days from €20.

A global ballot will then open on Wednesday 3 June, though demand is expected to far exceed supply.

On the course, the stakes are equally high.

Europe will be aiming for a third consecutive Ryder Cup victory under captain Luke Donald — a feat never previously achieved.

Meanwhile, the United States are yet to confirm their captain, with several names under consideration following Tiger Woods’ withdrawal from contention.

As anticipation builds for what promises to be a historic week at Adare Manor, Fulcher’s verdict on ‘extortionate’ ticket prices has only intensified the debate, leaving lingering questions over whether the Ryder Cup’s landmark 2027 edition risks alienating the very fans who make it so special.
