The 108th PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania is set to be shaped by a week of fluctuating weather conditions, with cool and unsettled early rounds expected to give way to a warm, dry finish that could significantly influence scoring.

The PGA Championship, which begins on Thursday, will see defending champion Scottie Scheffler return as the pre-tournament favourite after his dominant five-shot victory last year, as he bids to secure a fifth major title and become the first player since Brooks Koepka in 2019 to successfully retain the famous Wanamaker Trophy.

PGA Championship Weather Forecast at Aronimink

Conditions in the build-up to the tournament are expected to remain relatively cool and mostly dry, with Monday bringing mostly cloudy skies, a high around 65°F (18°C), and only a slight chance of a late shower.

Tuesday follows with partly cloudy skies and similar temperatures between 62–65°F (17–18°C), offering stable but subdued preparation conditions.

The first notable disruption arrives midweek, with Wednesday carrying the highest probability of rain at around 59%.

Any showers could begin to soften the course ahead of tournament play, potentially altering the firmness and receptiveness of the Aronimink layout.

Attention then turns to the opening round, where conditions are expected to remain unsettled.

Thursday’s first round carries a continued risk of showers, with approximately a 55% chance of rain and temperatures near 62°F (17°C).

Friday is expected to be slightly milder at around 66°F (19°C), but lingering shower activity remains likely at roughly 56%, keeping conditions variable through the first 36 holes.

Westerly winds throughout the week, with gusts around 20 mph at times, could further complicate scoring, particularly if combined with softened fairways and receptive greens following midweek rainfall.

In contrast, the weekend forecast points towards a significant improvement.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to bring sunny skies and a marked rise in temperatures, climbing into the 75–80°F (24–27°C+) range.

This shift could quickly firm up playing surfaces and introduce a very different scoring dynamic for the closing stages of the championship.

With cool early conditions, a potentially rain-affected start to tournament play, and a warm, dry finish, players will face a constantly evolving set of challenges at Aronimink — making adaptability as important as form in deciding this year’s champion.
