With on-course apparel taking on a distinctly retro, tech-heavy aesthetic as of late, it feels like the perfect time for adidas's EQT (Equipment) range to have its moment in golf. And true to its form as a brand well tapped in to the changing tides in golf style, the Three Stripes has delivered.
Characterised by its distinct white, black and teal colour palate and its tendency towards looser fits and technical fabrics, the EQT range encapsulates everything great about retro sportswear—embodying a certain functionality that's as effortlessly cool running daily errands as it is at the gym.
“When adidas Equipment was introduced in 1991, it redefined what sport and fashion could represent through the core focus on providing everything that was essential for the athlete," says Dylan Moore, Senior Creative Director of adidas Golf.
Now, the brand's first ever EQT golf capsule is here: a timeless collection of functional golf wear that, while not necessarily screaming classic golf style, appeals with its fashion-forward approach. The collection is anchored in a selection of knitted technical golf polos and quarter-zip mid-layers which are heavy on adidas's signature early '90s branding, with nylon shorts, five-panel caps and a reverseable vest also on offer. Basically, it channels the retro sportswear you'd pay a serious premium for in an East London vintage store.
"We were inspired by that philosophy and wanted to bring a forward-thinking approach to that original intention, but through a modern lens that reflects what golfers of today are looking for from us.”
The true highlight of the collection, however, rests in the limited-edition Equipment 93 spikeless golf shoe, which fuses the classic leather profile of a traditional golf shoe with a Boost midsole for all-day comfort. Perfectly fusing the worlds of old and new, it was brought to life from scratch by legendary adidas footwear designer Toshiaki Omori.

Select styles of the EQT Golf capsule are available now in limited quantities at Adidas.
