It's fair to say Tiger Woods vs Phil Mickelson in 'The Match' was one of the biggest anti-climax moments in golf last season, and country music singer Jake Owen wasted little time in reminding Lefty when meeting him in person at Jordan Spieth's wedding.

Speaking on Barstool Sports' Fore Play podcast, Owen retold how after a few drinks he built up the courage to go up to the five-time major champion and demand his $30 back for tunng in to watch the PPV match that took place in Las Vegas last November.

Owen certainly didn't mess around.

“So I walked over to him. I was like, ‘Hey Phil, you owe me f—— $29.99!” he said.

“I was like, ‘For wasting four hours of my life with the s——- golf I’ve ever seen! You guys hype this whole thing up about the big match? You guys couldn’t even make three birdies between the two of you? I want my $29.99 and apologize to me for some s—– golf.'”

Then Mickelson replied in classic Mickelson fashion.

“He pulls out a wad of his thing and he grabs $100 like a $100 bill,” said Owen. “And he’s like, ‘Yeah I won 90,000 of these yesterday.’ He goes, ‘Take a 100 and go f— yourself!'”
