Golf fans react to Greg Norman's touching gesture for kid to meet LIV Golf hero

Awesome video footage has emerged on social media this week of LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman ensuring a young golf fan got to meet his LIV Golf hero Cameron Smith

As we join the video filmed from LIV Golf DC last week, a young lad by the name of Francis is sat watching Smith intently down by the 1st tee box.

Norman soon discovers the reigning Open champion is Francis' favourite player, and so he makes sure to introduce him.

Former World No.1 Norman picks up Francis and takes him straight over to his fellow Aussie Smith, who greets him with a fist-bump and signs his cap.

Francis then leaves with a big smile.

Here's how a number of golf fans reacted to the video footage, which was posted via Smith's Ripper GC Twitter account:

"Wow what a treat for a young kid. Hopefully another golf player in the future."

"This is what LIV golf is all about? The Golf Fans, especially the young fans who are the future players & supporters of the world golf tours!"

"This is growing the game and inspiring the next generation of players."

"Greg Norman is the real deal, when my dear friend Jarrod Lyle passed away he was the only player to send items immediately to raise money for Jarrod’s wife and daughters, I was also by Jarrod’s bedside when Greg rang to see how Jarrod was. Thank you Greg."

"I want Greg to do the same for me when at the UK event. If he can lift me."

"Well done Greg."

"You can’t beat this."

A similar moment also played out on the PGA Tour on Sunday night too, as eventual Charles Schwab Challenge winner Emiliano Grillo let two young lads come and hit some balls with him while he was warming up for a playoff at Colonial.

What made the interaction even greater was that Grillo had just made double bogey on the 72nd hole to lose a two-stroke lead.

Grillo later said he let Peyton and Sutton come join him on the 1st tee (which is where he was hitting balls to warm up for the playoff) as he just wanted to try and forget about the situation.

After then going on to win the tournament with a birdie on the second extra hole, Grillo invited the boys to come into the locker room with him.
