Chase Koepka believes the partnership between the Asian Tour and LIV Golf Tour has opened-up an inviting pathway to success for golfers from all over the world, as he gets underway in this week’s International Series Korea event on Jeju Island.

Koepka and fellow LIV golfer Peter Uihlein are both part of a strong field for the $1.5m event, which they head into having featured in last week’s International Series Singapore.

Uihlein finished tied seventh on 12-under par, four shots behind winner Nitithorn Thippong of Thailand, with Koepka further down the board on 4-under par.

Koepka, 30, the younger brother of four-time major winner Brooks, is relishing his time playing in Asia between LIV events.

"I think these International Series events are a great thing - playing all over the world was one of the reasons I joined LIV," said Koepka.

"To be the best in the world, you have to play all over world. This is a huge step for me, coming over to play a lot more in Asia and I think these events are going to continue to get better and better each week that it goes on and next year will be fantastic."

Koepka, who plays in the Smash GC Team captained by big brother Brooks in the LIV events, added: "I think the partnership between LIV and the Asian Tour is going to bring more stars over here to Asia to play and see the world. I do hope a lot of the guys on the LIV tour come over here to play.

"LIV partnering with the Asian Tour is only a good thing – I know the purses are going to keep increasing and there will be more and more events around the world, and I think it is great that a bunch of other tours are being able to benefit from competition in the game of golf."

Former Masters champion Patrick Reed played alongside Koepka and Uihlein in last week’s Singapore event.

However, due to a change in schedule, Reed is now not teeing it up in Korea this week.

The International Series Korea got underway at Lottle SkyHill Country Club Thursday morning.
