It hasn't taken long for LIV Golf debutant Joaquin Niemann to forget about the PGA Tour and focus on his new career, as he showed in the second round of the Boston Invitational.

The young Chilean, who Rory McIlroy and Adam Scott tried to persuade to stay on the Tour, fired six birdies and just one bogey on Saturday to reach 11-under-par.

Before the end of the Tour Championship, where he came tied 11th, Niemann revealed he hadn't made his decision on joining LIV, but the many millions at Greg Norman's disposal proved to be decisive again.

Heading into the final round at The International, he is one shot behind LIV Golf stalwart Talor Gooch who shot a 65 of his own to reach 12-under-par.

Since he joined the PGA Tour in 2019, the 23-year-old earned $14,571,584 and won two tournaments. On Sunday, he could stand to win $4 million as well as a team bonus with Torque GC.

As for Gooch, he was one of three players who were denied a temporary restraining order to play in the FedEx Cup Playoffs and his name still remains on the antitrust lawsuit that has been filed against the PGA Tour.

Dustin Johnson produced the joint-lowest round of the day with a 63 to reach 10-under-par. The two-time major champion carded eight birdies and an eagle in round two to contend for his first win on the Saudi-backed series.

Cameron Smith failed to elaborate on his first-round 64 in the second round. His 69 on Saturday was only enough to take him to tied eighth place on 7-under-par.

The 4 Aces team, made up of Gooch, Johnson, Pat Perez and Patrick Reed, has a three-shot lead at the top of the team leaderboard after 36 holes. 4 Aces are on course to win for the third consecutive time on the LIV Golf Series.

As well as earning a minimum of $120,000 at each event, a player in the winning team of a LIV Golf event will also receive $750,000 as part of the $25 million purses which are dished out at all of the events.
