The Masters: Reigning champion Hideki Matsuyama to receive his official…

It seems crazy to think about it but The Masters is not too far away.

While many people will be out and about making Christmas plans - or cancelling them - the folks over in Georgia started sending out invites.

Hideki Matsuyama, the reigning champion and the first ever Japanese player to win the tournament, is in the field.

The official Masters social media accounts posted an image of the paper invitations, which will be sent out to all participants.

The 86th Masters will take place between 7-10 April. The betting favourite at the moment is Spain's John Rahm.

There is no doubt speculation will be rife about whether we will see Tiger Woods.

Can you just imagine Woods walking the fairways and hearing the voice of Jim Nantz as he prowls Augusta National.

Matsuyama is currently ranked 18th in the official world rankings. Those inside the top 50 get invites.

Cameron Tringale ranked at 51 in the final week of the year but all hope is not lost.

There will be chances for those to qualify as those who rank inside the top 50 a week before the Masters also get invites.

Kevin Na took to Twitter to express his joy at his invitation.

2022 promises to be a great year for golf.

What's great about the invites is they include an RSVP. Imagine saying no to this.
