New golf coaching app for smartphones

Been handed an iTunes voucher by an unimaginative relative? Well let us help you spend it on one of these excellent golf apps.

First up is Everyday Golf Coach, the UK’s biggest-selling game improvement application and the perfect practice companion during the cold winter days.

All the coaching tips and drills featured in Everyday Golf Coach can be utilised on the driving range to help improve all aspects of a golfer’s game. And what better way to utilise your time with the icy conditions closing courses up and down the country.

Everyday Golf Coach features 32 videos, all broken down into seven sections looking at the core fundamentals, the swing, balance and timing, ball flight, putting, chipping and on-course situations all simply explained and demonstrated by experienced PGA professional Noel Rousseau.

He said: “This is the season that all successful golfers consider to be the perfect time to start any significant improvements to their game. Course time is limited but if done correctly, 30 minutes on the range twice a week can make a world of difference come next April.

“Golfers should think about keeping a club in the car and hitting 30 balls every time they pass the range. There are a number of drills they can do from Everyday Golf Coach, that will help to improve their game.”

Exclusive to the iPad version of Everyday Golf Coach is the Swing Analyser, which enables users to import their golf swings and compare them to the model professional on the app. They can even import videos of their favourite players from publicly available video websites.

The analysis suite allows users to compare the two swings frame-by-frame and draw lines where necessary to identify key areas of improvement. Further guidance is given within the app on principles the users should be looking for and where to place the lines.

Everyday Golf Coach is available here for the iPhone (£3.49) and iPad (£3.99).
