Brendon Todd may have missed out on the Tour Championship but he did set a bonker new PGA Tour record.

Some records on the PGA Tour are better than others, or at least that's how Brendon Todd will view it following the BMW Championship.

Todd, 38, finished on 4-over par for the week at Olympia Fields in a tie for 41st.

Now you might be thinking what's so special about that then?

So did we when we first saw the stat appear on social media.

In what can only be described as (probably!) the dullest record ever compiled on the PGA Tour, three-time winner Todd recorded the most pars of all time at a PGA Tour event.

Todd made a whopping 64 pars over 72 holes at the BMW Championship.

He also made two birdies and six bogeys.

PGA Tour stats guru Justin Ray revealed the news on Twitter.

"It's the most pars for any player in a 72-hole PGA Tour event over the last 40 seasons," tweeted Ray.

Many of you reading this article will no doubt have loved to have made 64 pars over four rounds.

But Todd is of course a PGA Tour professional where pars sadly do not mean prizes more often than not out here.

Todd finished 17 places outside the top 30 in the FedEx Cup race in 47th position, therefore meaning he is not eligible to compete in the season-ending Tour Championship at East Lake this week.

Nevertheless, at least he has entered the record books, albeit not in the way he would have wanted.
