PGA Tour's Phoenix Open adds more suites, but they will COST A BOMB!
Huge changes set for 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open from Jan.30 to Feb. 2.
The PGA Tour's Waste Management Phoenix Open will welcome a host of additional corporate suites for its 2020 event as it anticipates yet another record week of attendance - but unfortunately they will cost a fortune!
The 2019 tournament, won by Rickie Fowler, saw record attendances for both day one (216,818) and the entire week (719,179).
Following this year's success, it would appear the tournament organisers are looking to go even bigger and better when some of the world's best align at TPC Scottsdale from January 30 to February 2 in 2020.
The tournament is regarded as the loudest event of the PGA Tour season, solely down to its Stadium Hole Par-3 16th that strikes fear into players as they stand on the tee box.
Miss the green, they get booed. Find the green some 30 feet away, they get booed. Stick it to five feet, they get cheered. Hole it, all hell breaks loose. Just ask Tiger Woods...
The main changes for the 2020 Phoenix Open are from spectators, with the main general viewing area of holes 6, 12 and 13 doubling in size from 18,000 square feet to 36,000 square feet. There will also be 60 new hospitality suites on the 18th hole.
But the biggest addition is the Kiva Club that will be positioned between the 10th and 17th holes that will allow golf fans to watch the tournament in "style and comfort" according to tournament director Tim Woods.
Unfortunately, these corporate areas will come at a price with those on the 18th setting you back $46,000, and those on the famous 16th starting at $155,000!
