Rickie Fowler and wife Allison Stokke welcome the birth of their daughter Maya

It doesn't feel too long ago that Rickie Fowler burst onto the golf scene with his colourful outfits. Now he's a dad.

Where does all the time go? Fowler, 32, has more reason to be thankful this year after he and wife Allison Stokke welcomed the birth of their daughter, who they have named Maya.

Both mother and baby are healthy, Fowler said. His daughter was born on 18 November, just in time for Thanksgiving.

"As you can see Allison & I are beyond thankful...a whole new meaning to life!! Maya Fowler born 11/18/21 My heart is full," Fowler posted to his Instagram account.

Stokke, also 32, wrote on her page: "Maya Fowler ... couldn't be more thankful!!! Happy Thanksgiving." Michelle Wie West wrote: "MAYA!!!!"

Big names were quick to congratulate Fowler with #girldad posts. Max Homa, Lee Westwood and Luke Donald were just a few to welcome the news.

Justin Thomas wrote: "Yes!!!!!! @jilliangrace3 and I will be making even more visits now."

Even Annika Sorenstram and pop star Ronan Keating posted their well wishes.

Fowler joins Jordan Spieth in parenthood, who recently welcomed the birth of their baby boy Sammy. Spieth and his wife Annie were high school sweet hearts.

Fowler and Stokke, who is a former track and field athlete and is now a fitness model, got together in 2017. A year later, Fowler popped the question during the U.S. Open week at Shinnecock Hills. They tied the knot in October 2019.
