Brooks Koepka spotted having 'missed cut party' after disastrous Irish Open
Multiple major champion Brooks Koepka was spotted having a 'missed cut party' after exiting the Amgen Irish Open at the halfway stage.
Brooks Koepka didn't appear to let his latest missed cut in a miserable season dampen his spirits.
The five-time major winner made his return to the DP World Tour last week at the Amgen Irish Open.
Koepka, 35, looked like he was on track to make the weekend at the K Club after opening the tournament with a half-decent 71.
But he followed it with a disastrous 80 on Friday to bow out at the halfway stage.
It was the latest below-par performance from the big-hitting American, who missed three of four cuts in the major championships and only registered three top-10 finishes in the LIV Golf League.
Koepka will have another opportunity this week to salvage his season at the BMW PGA Championship.
Before he made the trip across the Irish Sea the golfer was spotted enjoying some much-needed down time in Dublin's Camden Street.
Koepka was sighted at Frank's enjoying a pint of the black stuff.
The folks that handle the beersforebogeys page dubbed it a 'missed cut party'.
Brooks Koepka reacts to Ryder Cup omission
Unsurprisingly for Koepka, he did not do enough to secure a captain's pick for the US Ryder Cup team.
Skipper Keegan Bradley went for Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay, Collin Morikawa, Sam Burns, Cameron Young and Ben Griffin.
Koepka wasn't the only notable absentee, as Jordan Spieth was also overlooked.
Still, Koepka admitted he only had himself to blame, telling reporters in Ireland he played his way off the team.
"So I can't be disappointed," Koepka said of the omission.
"I did it myself. It's not anything I'm not aware of. I'm not shying away from it. It's just bad timing.
"You have one down year but if it's the year after the Ryder Cup it’s a whole lot easier to play catch-up."
He added: "I haven't played very good this year. It's felt good and then its completely disappeared. It ebbs and flows. Golf's crazy.
"You feel one minute you're never going to find it again and then all of a sudden its one swing and you're back for six months."
