Sweden's Mikael Lindberg has punched his ticket to a first career major at the 2026 PGA Championship after winning his maiden DP World Tour title in windy and rainy final-round conditions at the Turkish Airlines Open.

Lindberg, 33, held a share of the lead entering the final round at The National Club in Belek, Turkey, and he closed things out superbly with a composed three-under 69 to finish two shots ahead of the chasing pack on 10-under par

Italy's Guido Migliozzi and Portugal's Daniel Rodrigues finished in a two-way tie for second on eight-under par.

Scotland's Ewen Ferguson, Holland's Darius Van Driel and Denmark's Jacob Skov Olesen rounding out the top five on seven-under par.

The victory for Lindberg not only marks his first title on the DP World Tour, but also punches his ticket to a first major at the PGA Championship in two weeks time at Aronimink Golf Club, as well as the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in July.

The win sees Lindberg pocket a whopping $467,500 first prize, as well as cool $200,000 bonus for winning the DP World Tour's Asian Swing

An emotional Lindberg, who started the week ranked 220th in the world, was mobbed by his family and friends at the back of the 18th green after sealing his first win in his 70th DP World Tour start.

Lindberg now vaults to seventh on the Race to Dubai standings.

A first win had certainly been coming for Lindberg over the past 12 months. The Swede recorded impressive top-five finishes at the Danish Golf Championship and Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews last season, and he arrived in Turkey this week off the back of a confidence-building solo third at the Volvo China Open.

"This is a dream come true really," a relieved Lindberg told Sky Sports Golf

"I've been dreaming about this for so many years, so to be able to pull this one off... it's been a very tough week.

"I was in the lead after the first round and I just felt like it's been mentally very tough all week."

On now earning an invite to compete in the 2026 PGA Championship at Aronimink, which will mark his major debut, a shocked Lindberg said: "Wow, to be honest, I barely knew it was possible after seeing the guys who were leading the Asian Swing were quite far ahead of me, but I don't know what to say really, it's going to be amazing."

Elsewhere, Italian contender Gregorio de Leo, who led the tournament entering the weekend, was assessed a one-shot penalty in the final round for exceeding the shot clock on the 11th hole. He ended up finishing in a tie for seventh on six-under par.
