Patrick Reed says he couldn't be "more proud" after securing his second victory in three starts on the DP World Tour at the Qatar Masters.

Reed, 35, carded a final-round 70 at Doha Golf Club on Sunday for a 16-under total.

It was enough to secure the win by two strokes from Scotland's Calum Hill.

Reed's victory pushes him beyond the Race to Dubai points total that has traditionally been sufficient to secure a PGA Tour card.

The American took the early lead in the standings with victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January and lost in a play-off last week at the Bahrain Championship.

He quit LIV Golf in January - following Brooks Koepka out the door - and was expected to play on the PGA Tour next season in the past champion category.

But locking up a PGA Tour card via the Race to Dubai will give him improved status for next season.

"I mean, we couldn't ask for anything more than what we did," Reed told Sky Sports Golf in the immediate aftermath of victory.

"I mean, I felt like the game was really solid and, you know, I knew I loved Dubai. I've played there before. I've played well there.

"And so to get the first win there and then really to have a chance there last week and unfortunate not to be able to close it off, but then to come in this week and close it off, especially, you know, we had a lot of adversity today.

"But to be able to flip that switch and play bogey free here on the back nine was special."

Reed began the day with a two-shot lead.

But he surrendered it with a sloppy front nine, making the turn in one-over par after dropping strokes at the second and sixth.

He took control of the tournament with birdies at 10 and 11 and stretched his lead to three with another birdie at the 14th.

Hill looked out of contention at the turn, but made a charge on the back nine. He eagled thew par-five 10th then made four birdies in a row from the 14th.

But it was not enough to trouble Reed, who rattled off four successive pars down the stretch for a stress-free win.

"It wasn't looking very good there on the front nine and to lose the lead like that, then to be able to kind of flip the switch there on the back nine, you know, obviously felt amazing," Reed added.

"And it was great kind of, especially this little run I had, you know, two wins [and] a second. It's, you know, it's awesome.

"I mean, I love the way the game feels and, you know, I couldn't be more proud of my team and my family back home.

"I mean, for pulling all nights and all the grinding we've done this off season.

"So, yeah, no, it's special to come out here, especially get two wins early on in the season. Hopefully there's a lot more to come."
