Bryson DeChambeau outlined his plans for his LIV Golf team after the Crushers won their third event in a row in Dallas.

Bryson DeChambeau appears to believe his LIV Golf team could be as big as the Los Angeles Lakers in a few years' time.

DeChambeau was part of the first wave of high-profile recruits to join the PIF-backed league in 2022.

The American was among several major champions such as Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka and Cameron Smith to make the switch.

His popularity has soared thanks to his absorbing performances in the majors over the last few years - which included an electric victory at the 2024 US Open - and his presence on social media.

DeChambeau's contract with LIV expires at the conclusion of the 2026 campaign and there was speculation he could return to the PGA Tour.

But he has already poured cold water on that suggestion and hopes to thrash out a new deal when LIV's third full season finishes in August.

And judging by his comments after finishing ninth at LIV Golf Dallas, DeChambeau has astronomical plans for his Crushers team.

"Obviously the game of golf will always be an individual sport," DeChambeau said as he reflected on the Crushers' third team win in a row.

"We'll always play for individual titles. But why not have a team aspect as well to it. Why can't we have more fun together?

"Why can't we build something special? Why can't we influence and inspire the next generation of golfers as a team?

"We want people to have that fandom like you have with the Lakers, like you have with the Yankees and stuff. It's going to take time. We all know that.

"And the people that are looking at us going, what is this, why is it even a thing, well, the Yankees had to start somewhere, the Lakers had to start somewhere, and we're just at the inception. This is only three years in now."

DeChambeau's team has remained the same for the past two seasons.

It currently comprises of former European Ryder Cup star Paul Casey as well as former PGA Tour pros Anirban Lahiri and Charles Howell III.

"We're very proud of the fact we've not changed," Casey said.

"Bryson has not changed this lineup, but who knows what this looks like in five years or ten years' time.

"That's exciting too. Bryson wants to fill this team with the best players possible"

"A lot of recovery, a lot of ice"

DeChambeau decided to take to the show stage during LIV Dallas.

The 31-year-old took to the mic after rock band Whiskey Myers had finished their set.

He delivered an impassioned speech and thanked spectators for turning up to his home state.

Asked how he still had a voice after the performance, DeChambeau joked: "A lot of recovery, a lot of ice. No, I'm kidding.

"No, it was fun getting up there on stage and thanking Dallas.

"I have to say thank you to Dallas for them showing up this week. I think it's one of our best events in the States.

"There was 12,000 people. I don't know how many there were today but it seemed like there was quite a bit.

"Dallas showed up, and this is what I expected. This is what I thought. This is what I thought was possible. Our team showed up.

"I've just got to say I'm super thankful to Dallas and super thankful for the team for playing as well as they did.

"We've got more to go, though. We're not finished. We want to win that team championship at the end of the year as well."
