Rising LPGA Tour star Yana Wilson has been forced to withdraw from this week's Amundi Evian Championship after illness ruled her out of the fourth women's major of the season.

According to Golfweek's Beth Ann Nichols, the 19-year-old American withdrew on Monday before making the trip to France. Her place in the 132-player field has been taken by Narin An, who is ranked 142nd in the world.

Wilson, ranked 191st in the world, has enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign and currently sits 33rd in the CME Race to the Globe standings.

The biggest moment of her young career came last month when she teamed up with Gina Kim to capture her maiden LPGA title at the Dow Championship.

Her performances in the majors this season have been mixed. Wilson finished tied for 49th at the Chevron Championship, did not qualify for the U.S. Women's Open and then missed the cut at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship.

Provided she makes a full recovery, Wilson is expected to return to action later this month at the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open (23-26 July), before teeing it up in the season's fifth and final major, the AIG Women's Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes from 30 July-2 August.

Wilson's withdrawal is one of the few changes to a world-class field assembling for the Amundi Evian Championship, which takes place from 9-12 July at Evian Resort Golf Club in Evian-les-Bains, France.

A record purse of $9.1 million is on offer as the world's best players battle for one of the sport's most coveted major titles.

The prize money is up more than $1 million on last year's renewal.

Now in its 32nd edition, the Evian Championship once again features an exceptional field, with all eyes firmly on world number one Nelly Korda.

The 27-year-old American arrives in France as the red-hot favourite after another sensational campaign.

Korda has already claimed four LPGA Tour victories in 2026, including two majors at the Chevron Championship and U.S. Women's Open, further cementing her status as the dominant force in women's golf.

A victory this week would hand Korda a first Evian Championship, a remarkable third major title of the season and the fifth of her career.

Given the form she has produced so far this season, Korda is undoubtedly the player everyone else in the field is trying to beat.

Standing in her way is another outstanding cast of contenders.

Defending champion Grace Kim returns looking to successfully defend the title she won in dramatic fashion 12 months ago, while world number two Jeeno Thitikul arrives with plenty of confidence after another excellent season.

Former champion Céline Boutier will once again enjoy passionate home support as she looks to lift the trophy for a second time, while England's Lottie Woad continues her rapid rise after announcing herself on the major stage with a superb third-place finish at last year's Evian Championship while still an amateur.

With one of the strongest fields of the year assembled in France, the stage is set for another fascinating week of major championship golf, even if one of the LPGA's brightest young stars will unfortunately be watching from the sidelines.
