Brooks Koepka's verdict after making cut on PGA Tour comeback
Brooks Koepka told reporters he's going to take the reins off over the weekend at the Farmers Insurance Open after making the cut on his PGA Tour comeback.
Brooks Koepka revealed he's never been congratulated more after making the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open on his PGA Tour comeback.
Koepka shot a four-under 68 on the North Course at Torrey Pines on Friday, marking a notable improvement over his first-round performance.
The 36-year-old five-time major champion sits near the bottom of the leaderboard, 14 strokes adrift of leader Justin Rose.

But the former LIV recruit told reporters he was just happy that he was playing four rounds of competitive golf this week.
"I think that was important," Koepka said. "Played really solid today. Drove it a lot better. Putting, I feel like I hit a lot of great putts, they just didn't go in.
"I felt like I was all over the lip today. But that's golf [and] kind of [what you get from] Poa greens. Maybe [I was] a touch conservative maybe putting, not as aggressive.
"I don't know if those greens were a little bit slower but it felt like it. But that's all right, got two days to figure it out and kind of really see where my game's at, kind of take the reins off and go."
"Did you have fun? Did you see any airplanes today?"

Koepka admitted he was extremely nervous before round one as he did not know how he was going to be received by the spectators and other players.
Several high-profile players have spoken of his delight that he has returned after a four-year absence.
Patrick Reed has followed Koepka through the exit door at LIV and will return to the PGA Tour in August.
"I think yesterday I was excited to play, nervous, and kind of didn't know what to expect, but today was, today felt more normal, I guess," said Koepka.
"But yeah, I mean, don't get me wrong, I definitely still got antsy but I guess maybe a little bit of nerves, just trying to figure it out and test - see where my game's at too, right?
"I feel like I'm playing really well. It's just been a long layoff."

Koepka revealed the primary reason he decided to quit LIV was so he could be closer to his family.
Last October, his wife Jena revealed she had suffered a pregnancy loss.
Their baby's heart stopped beating at 16 weeks.
Jena and his son, Crew, were greenside after Koepka tapped in to make the cut.
"I don't know the last time I've actually made a cut and they've still been there," he said.
"Since, as Doug [Ferguson, AP reporter] pointed out earlier in the week, I wasn't making the cuts on the weekends at the majors when they were there.
"But yeah, so it was nice to have them out there and It felt good.
"I don't know, my son doesn't really know what's going on but it's cool for me to have them here."
