Tommy Fleetwood will take a one-shot lead over his European Ryder Cup teammate Justin Rose into the final round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship

Fleetwood began the first leg of the PGA Tour's playoffs with a scintillating 63 and added a 64 yesterday before play was suspended due to bad weather.

The Englishman struggled a touch on Saturday, carding a one-under 69 on a scorching hot day at TPC Southwind to reach 14-under.

He made the turn in level par and added circles to his card on the 12th and 16th alongside six pars.

Fleetwood made his second bogey of the day at the last whereas Rose holed a short birdie putt on the same hole to card a 67.

World number one Scottie Scheffler is in solo third on 12-under, one clear of US Ryder Cup hopefuls JJ Spaun and Andrew Novak.

Scheffler, the winner of this year's PGA Championship and Open, only hit seven of 14 fairways but still managed to card a 65.

Rickie Fowler and Ben Griffin are among a group of four players on nine under, whilst six players - including Collin Morikawa, Patrick Cantlay and Sepp Straka - are on seven under.

Fleetwood has finished runner-up six times on the PGA Tour - the last of which was at the Travelers Championship in June.

Tommy Fleetwood involved in rules 'kerfuffle'

The 34-year-old was also involved in a brief rules 'kerfuffle'.

He found the water with his second shot at the par-5 third hole.

After taking a drop, Fleetwood was unsure if he caused his golf ball as he played his next stroke.

He asked Rose if he saw any movement but the 45-year-old was not sure.

After a brief exchange with a rules official and after checking the video footage, Fleetwood was told on the fifth hole there would be no penalty.

Here's what he said...
