Jordan Spieth was forced to make a miraculous left-handed recovery at the Valspar Championship after his tee shot found its way into a rather unfortunate resting place at the base of a tree.

Never one to shy away from attempting the almost impossible, rather than taking a drop, Spieth instead attempted to channel his inner Phil Mickelson and hit the shot left-handed.

The miraculous shot occurred during the second round of the Valspar Championship on second hole of the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort.

In a video captured by the PGA Tour, Spieth can be heard discussing the shot with his caddie, Michael Greller, and despite claiming he didn't want to hit the shot left-handed, he clearly came to the conclusion he had no other choice.

In other words, Spieth had to resort to doing Spiethy things.

The three-time major champion made remarkably good contact, but the ball didn't make it out of the rough.

From there, Spieth did manage to find the putting surface with his third shot, but with a two-putt needed, he walked off the hole with a bogey.

Currently sat at level par, Spieth is flirting with the cut line, and with only a handful of holes to play, his week could be hanging in the balance.

Having had a mixed start to his 2024 season, the 2015 Masters winner would have likely been hoping for a good week at the Valspar, where he won in 2015 only weeks before he claimed his first major.
