Former U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson has confirmed he is reuniting with his former looper Paul Tesori for the 2026 PGA Tour season.

Simpson worked alongside Tesori for 12 years and the duo enjoyed considerable success together.

Tesori was on the bag when Simpson clinched the 2012 U.S. Open and the 2018 Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass.

Simpson's game went south and the pair split in March 2023, with Tesori carrying the sticks for the likes of Brendon Todd, Cameron Young and most recently Tom Kim.

Kim sacked Tesori after finding himself in somewhat of a rut and hired Rickie Fowler's former caddie Joe Skovron.

Skovron then decided to dump the South Korean in favour of Sweden's Ludvig Aberg.

Tesori has confirmed to Golfweek that he will reprise his partnership with Simpson for one year.

"We decided to do a one-year deal and we're going to grind it out for his 11 or so events," Tesori said.

"Webb has been extremely generous. I'm under a salary and a very generous one that has enabled me to do it.

"That helps the part of staying home more often."

Simpson will need a big year on the PGA Tour if he is to retain his membership.

He has one year left of fully exempt status, although he boasts a career money-list exemption.

Tesori acknowledged that Simpson could play one more year or for a further decade.

Once inside the the top five of the OWGR, Simpson has fallen to 438th in the standings.

He did not play in any major championships this season and, from 11 starts, missed five cuts on the PGA Tour.

His best finish was a share of 16th at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

"Hopefully he does something crazy and wins and we push that schedule a little more," Tesori added.

Simpson said: "I'm trying to get back to my 2011 mindset of long-term goals.

"I want to focus on working towards something and not get caught up in every round."

It is not uncommon for PGA Tour members to frequently change their caddie.

Collin Morikawa began the year working alongside J.J. Jakovac, but the pair split in April.

Morikawa then had Joe Greiner, KK Limbhasut, Billy Foster and Mark Urbanek carrying his TaylorMade bag.
