PGA Tour star Tony Finau putts one-handed during the Memorial Tournament
Watch: Frustrated PGA Tour star Tony Finau resorts to putting one-handed on the 15th hole during the third round of the Memorial Tournament.
Tony Finau was seen putting one-handed on the 15th hole during the third round of the Memorial Tournament.
Finau, 35, has been struggling on the greens for a while but in particular this season.
The big-hitting American ranks a lowly 96th in strokes-gained putting (0.020) on the PGA Tour in 2025.
As a result of some poor form on the greens, Finau has only registered one top-10 finish all season.
The six-time PGA Tour winner has also slipped down to 37th in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).
Finau finds himself in the middle of the pack at Jack Nicklaus' Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club this week.
With no chance of winning a seventh PGA Tour title this weekend and 5-over par for his third round, a frustrated Finau decided to putt one-handed on the 15th green.
It's unconfirmed exactly why Finau did that, especially when there is a $20m prize purse and valuable Ryder Cup points on the line this week, but to his credit he still managed to hole the putt.

Those watching on in disbelief in the Sky Sports Golf commentary box believe it's a very worrying situation for Finau.
"Hmm, this is interesting, oh my word," said Sky's Andrew Coltart as he watched Finau settle in over his putt with just his right hand on the grip.
Finau then holed the putt from 10 feet.
"Very good, but not a good sign," continued Coltart.
"He's taken his hand off, I don't believe he's injured.
"I think he just has so many problems on the greens he doesn't know what to do."
Sky's lead host Nick Dougherty added: "That is worrying. That is really worrying. That is not a solution, that's a get me through it, find a feel or something and go back to the drawing board which he's been doing a long time with the putter to be fair."
We have seen PGA Tour players chip one-handed before, but rarely do you see players putt one-handed.
It remains to be seen whether this becomes a regular stroke for Finau, or whether it was solely just built out of frustration.
Finau went on to card a 4-over 76 to fall back to 5-over par for the tournament and just outside the top 30 in the limited 72-man field.
