Ben Griffin put himself in ideal position to head to his first Ryder Cup on the back of a PGA Tour victory as he opened up a three-shot lead at the halfway stage of the Procore Championship in California.
Griffin leads Ryder Cup team-mate Russell Henley with US Open champion JJ Spaun also in the top four as all 10 of Keegan Bradley's Team USA players made it through to the weekend at the Silverado Resort in Napa.
Having opened with a bogey-free 64 in round one, Griffin again kept the mistakes off his card while making six birdies in a 66 that lifted him to 14-under par for the tournament.
The 29-year-old, one of Bradley's six captain's picks for this month's showpiece at Bethpage, vaulted three clear of Henley, who booked his place in Saturday's final pairing with a solid 68.
And Griffin is looking forward to plenty of Ryder Cup chat with his fellow rookie in round three.
"Yeah, we'll talk Ryder Cup," said Griffin. "I've played a bunch with Russell, we talk all the time. There's a lot of time you spend in between shots when you're playing a round of golf so we'll talk about a lot of things.
Making the most of his week in Napa 💪

"When it comes time to hit shots, we're going to be locked in and trying to win this golf tournament. But I'd say everyone on the team is just really excited to kind of get some competitive reps in, get ready for Bethpage.
"But every single guy on that team is trying to win this golf tournament, I can tell you that. Whether or not they say it or not, they're pretty focused on this week."
Henley shares second place with US Walker Cup star Jackson Koivan, who added a 66 to his opening 67, with Spaun five shots off the pace on 9-under par.
Scottie Scheffler started at the 10th and made a big early move with five birdies over his first nine holes, but the world No 1 struggled on the front nine and dropped shots at the 1st and 6th holes.
A welcome birdie at the 8th got him back to 6-under and one ahead of Cameron Young (67), while Collin Morikawa (-4), Harris English (-2), Justin Thomas (-2), Sam Burns (-1) and Patrick Cantlay (-1) will all get another 36 holes.
