Valspar Championship Betting Tips: Can we make it three winning weeks in a row?!
After two successful weeks in a row on the PGA Tour including a 35/1 winner last week, GolfMagic Editor and expert tipster Andy Roberts reveals his picks for the Valspar Championship.
GolfMagic Editor and resident tipster Andy Roberts is looking to keep the momentum rolling after successfully landing Cameron Young at 35/1 to win The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass last week.
Young’s breakthrough victory delivered another profitable week for GolfMagic readers and continued a strong run of form, following Collin Morikawa’s each-way return at 30/1 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational the week before.
With confidence high after two winning weeks on the bounce, attention now shifts from the drama of Sawgrass to the demanding Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort for this week’s Valspar Championship.
Often regarded as one of the toughest non-major tests on the PGA Tour schedule, Copperhead rewards patience, accuracy and a reliable tee-to-green game.
With tree-lined fairways, strategic doglegs and the notorious closing stretch known as the Snake Pit, it’s a course that regularly produces tense Sunday finishes and rewards players who keep big mistakes off the card.
With The Masters now just a few weeks away, this event also marks an important stop in the schedule for several of the world’s best players as they look to fine-tune their games before Augusta.
After studying the field, course history and recent form, two players stand out as strong outright selections to get the job done this week. Let’s dive in...
Valspar Championship 2026: Betting Tips
Xander Schauffele – 12/1
It’s hard to look beyond Xander Schauffele at this week’s Valspar Championship.
The two-time major champion may have slipped from second to seventh in the world rankings over recent months, but his form is trending in the right direction – and he arrives at a course where he has already produced some excellent performances.
Schauffele has yet to win the Valspar, but his record at the Copperhead Course is outstanding.
Across 12 rounds since 2021 he holds a 69 scoring average, the second-best in the field behind defending champion Viktor Hovland (68.50).
His tournament results back that up. Schauffele has played the Valspar three times and never finished worse than T12. He recorded T12 finishes in 2022 and 2025, while his best result came with a fifth-place finish in 2024.
That consistency suggests the course suits his eye.
Schauffele also arrives fresh from a strong showing at The Players Championship.
A superb second-round 65 in which he hit every fairway helped him secure solo third at 11-under par, just two shots behind winner Young.
Prior to that performance at TPC Sawgrass, he had already put together three consecutive top-25 finishes, including a T7 at the Genesis Invitational.
While this may not quite be peak Schauffele form yet, he is clearly moving in the right direction.
The American’s 2025 season was disrupted by a rib injury, but he ended the year on a high with victory at the Baycurrent Classic (formerly the ZOZO Championship) and contributed strongly for Team USA at the Ryder Cup at Bethpage.
Now fully healthy again, the signs are encouraging. The confidence appears to be returning and a victory feels close.
With The Masters just around the corner, Schauffele looks like a player gearing up for a big run over the next few weeks. But before Augusta National, the Valspar Championship could be the perfect place to strike.
Given his course history and current trajectory, 12/1 looks excellent value on one of the strongest players in the field.
Matt Fitzpatrick – 22/1
Another player showing signs of returning to his very best is England’s Matt Fitzpatrick.
The former US Open champion went agonisingly close to making history at The Players Championship last week. Fitzpatrick had a chance to become the first English winner of the tournament, only to bogey the final hole and finish runner-up to Young.
Despite the disappointment, the performance was hugely encouraging.
Fitzpatrick looked confident and aggressive throughout the final round at TPC Sawgrass, driving the ball with authority and playing with a noticeable swagger. For much of the day, his putter was also cooperating nicely.
His record at the Valspar Championship isn’t spectacular on paper, but there are reasons to believe the Copperhead Course should suit him well.
The layout demands accuracy, patience and a strong tee-to-green game – qualities that have always been central to Fitzpatrick’s success.
Players who avoid water hazards and big mistakes tend to thrive here, and Fitzpatrick currently ranks seventh on the PGA Tour in tee-to-green performance.
He has played the Valspar three times previously, missing the cut twice but also recording a solid fifth-place finish in 2022. That result suggests he is more than capable of contending here when his game is firing.
More importantly, his recent form indicates he is trending nicely.
Alongside last week’s runner-up finish at The Players, Fitzpatrick also produced a ninth-place finish at the WM Phoenix Open and T14 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am last month.
Like Schauffele, he looks to be building momentum.
At best odds of 22/1, Fitzpatrick represents excellent value, especially given the confidence he will take from his performance at Sawgrass. It would be no surprise to see his odds shorten before Thursday's opening round.
Final Picks
Only two outright selections this week:
- Xander Schauffele – 12/1
- Matt Fitzpatrick – 22/1
GolfMagic has enjoyed two profitable weeks in a row after Morikawa delivered each-way returns at 30/1 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational before Young landed the headline win at 35/1 at The Players Championship.
Can we make it three winning weeks in a row on the PGA Tour?
Let’s hope so.
