Hilarious footage emerges of state trooper at Ryder Cup: "Bro had a bet on Europe"
Watch footage of this state trooper celebrating Viktor Hovland's clutch putt during the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
Several golf fans reckon this state trooper had a big wager on Europe winning the Ryder Cup judging by his reaction when Viktor Hovland holed a clutch putt at Bethpage Black.
Luke Donald's Europe won the 45th edition of the contest last week by the skin of their teeth despite a stunning fightback from the United States in the Sunday singles.
Keegan Bradley's dozen collected 8.5 points from 11 matches in the session but ended up losing 15-13 in what will be considered in years to come as one of the greatest Ryder Cups in history.
In truth, Europe won the Ryder Cup in New York with a dominant display in the foursomes and fourballs over the first two days of the matches.
They led 12-5 before the final day and Hovland - who was forced to withdraw from the singles with a neck injury - helped deliver a crucial point in the Saturday foursomes.

The Norwegian PGA Tour star partnered Scotland's Robert MacIntyre and were up against Russell Henley and the top-ranked Scottie Scheffler.
The European duo were 1Up playing the 17th hole but were up against it when Scheffler drained his par putt.
With MacIntyre out of the hole, Hovland was faced with a lengthy par putt from the edge of the green to retain Europe's lead going up the last.
Hovland found the bottom of the cup, sparking wild celebrations from his European teammates who had gathered by the side of the green.
His brothers in blue and the European fans weren't the only ones who were celebrating.
This police officer was also loving it.
Several golf fans on X suggested he had wagered on Europe to win, given his fist-pump after Hovland's putt found the bottom of the cup.

Hovland and MacIntyre tied the final hole to secure the point for Europe, winning the session 3-1 after Rory McIlroy/Tommy Fleetwood and Jon Rahm/Tyrrell Hatton defeated Harris English/Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay/Xander Schauffele.
Ludvig Aberg and Matthew Fitzpatrick shared a point with Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Young.
Hovland was supposed to play in the afternoon fourballs but was forced to withdraw 10 minutes before his tee time with a stiff neck.
The golfer had an MRI scan on Saturday evening and ultimately did not play on the final day.
It meant a rarely used rule came into play, with the aforementioned English forced to miss out.
US skipper Bradley complained about the rule in the immediate aftermath of defeat, calling for it to change before the Ryder Cup heads to Ireland in two years' time.
His counterpart, Luke Donald, reminded the American that the rule has been in existence for decades and the US have benefitted from it in the past.
