Ryder Cup 2025: President Trump responds to being trolled by Team Europe
President Trump has replied to taunts from a victorious European team as they celebrated their Ryder Cup triumph in New York, but did he take it well?
Donald Trump gave a sporting response to Team Europe after they taunted the US President while celebrating their nail-biting victory in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black.
Rory McIlroy was front and centre in a hilarious video message to President Trump in the team locker room following their 15-13 win over the USA in New York on Sunday.
Trump caused a stir on Friday as he attended the afternoon fourballs, causing huge delays and congestion for spectators due to the stringent security measures put in place for his visit.
But his presence did not inspire Keegan Bradley's team to mount a serious comeback having lost the opening foursomes session 3-1, the home side winning just one of the four matches in the afternoon as Europe ended day one with a three-point lead.
That advantage was extended to seven points as Luke Donald's men again dominated the second day, although the US staged an astonishing fightback on Sunday and threatened to pull off a miraculous victory.
Ludvig Aberg was Europe's only winner in a one-sided singles session, but the visitors stumbled over the line with some valuable tied matches, with Shane Lowry's dramatic birdie at 18 ensuring the trophy would be retained.

In the locker room afterwards, the victors videoed a chant aimed at the President as they sang: "Are you watching Donald Trump?"
And in a post on his Truth Social account, avid golfer Trump delivered his reply.
"Yes, I’m watching. Congratulations!"
Many observers felt that Trump's attendance on Friday was a contributing factor to some unacceptable behaviour from the crowd, with McIlroy their main target throughout the three days of competition.
Several offenders were removed from the property by security guards and state troopers, and the Masters champion gave a measured response when asked for his general thoughts on the crowd decorum - or lack of!
"I don't think we should ever accept that in golf," he said. "I think golf should be held to a higher standard than what was seen out there this week. Golf has the ability to you unite people. Golf teaches you very good life lessons. It teaches you etiquette. It teaches you how to play by the rules. It teaches you how to respect people.
"Sometimes this week we didn't see that. So no, this should not be what is acceptable in the Ryder Cup.
"Look, it was a rough week for all of us. But at the same time, we shut them up by our performance and how we played. I chirped back a few times because it got to me a few times, but we tried to handle everything that came our way with class and poise, and for the most part, I felt like we did that."
