Neal Shipley was the only amateur to complete all 72 holes at Augusta National, and with it he was crowned the Silver Cup winner for low amateur at The Masters.

Shipley, 23, also got the incredible opportunity to play with Tiger Woods in the final round, as that's how the draw panned out for him.

The 23-year-old also got the better of the 15-time major champion by four shots following a round of 73.

Shipley ended the week a very respectable T53 on 12-over par, and four shots clear of Woods in the tournament.

Woods finished dead last of those that made the cut on 16-over par.

The five-time Masters champion did at least set a new record for most consecutive cuts (24) made at Augusta National though.

Shipley etched his name on the Silver Cup for low amateur.

The Ohio State graduate was the only amateur of five to make the cut.

Shipley admitted Woods, 48, made him feel very at ease throughout the final round.

"I definitely think it's one of my more relaxed rounds of the week," said Shipley.

"I think Tiger made me feel really welcomed.

"I mean, he was cool, chatting it up. Just kind of a cool, like, casual round with Tiger, you know, other than you're here at The Masters."

After discussing his whirlwind week with reporters some more in the media centre, it was the very final question that left one journalist red in the face.

The reporter in question allegedly saw Woods write something on a note and hand it to Shipley on the 8th fairway.

But Shipley was quick to shut it down.

"No, no, that didn't happen," he said.
