Chelsea fans may have got an unexpected first look at the club’s new 2026/27 home shirt — thanks to Justin Rose at the PGA Championship.

Rose, 45, arrived for the opening round at Aronimink Golf Club in Pennsylvania on Thursday wearing what appeared to be Chelsea’s unreleased home shirt for next season.

Although neither Chelsea nor Nike have officially unveiled the kit, leaked images circulating online in recent days closely matched the shirt worn by Rose, including the prominent lion emblem replacing the club’s traditional crest.

Notably, the jersey also appeared without a front-of-shirt sponsor, mirroring the leaked designs shared across social media.

The European Ryder Cup hero added further intrigue after reposting a video of his arrival from the PGA Championship’s official account, accompanying it with a t-shirt emoji and eyes emoji — a move many Chelsea supporters interpreted as a playful tease.

Former long-time Chelsea captain John Terry also got involved in the comments.

Rose, who won the 2013 U.S. Open, is a well-known Chelsea fan and has regularly been spotted at Stamford Bridge over the years.

Given his ties to the club, it is likely Rose was gifted the shirt ahead of its official launch.

Whether Chelsea intended for the strip to make a public appearance quite this early, however, remains another question.

Rose is playing alongside world number one and defending PGA champion Scottie Scheffler and fellow Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick during the opening two rounds at Aronimink.

The timing is also notable, with Chelsea preparing to face Manchester City in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

Chelsea’s kits continue to be produced by Nike as part of the club’s long-term agreement signed in 2016, a deal reportedly worth £900 million over 15 years.
