Charl Schwartzel signs new golf ball deal with Clear Golf
Hands up if you had heard of this golf ball brand?! No, we hadn't either...
Charl Schwartzel has penned a new golf ball deal with little-known manufacturer Clear Golf, a brand it's fair to say 99% of golfers will have never heard of before.
Schwartzel, 35, partnered with Clear Golf after missing most of the 2019 golf season due to a niggling wrist injury.
"The Clear Golf commitment to excellence and peak performance gets no stronger validation than having one of the great talents in golf choose to put our ball in play," said Clear Golf president Ed Brown.
"Our partnership with Charl marks an exciting time for Clear Golf. He will be an outstanding ambassador for our brand and we are confident the Clear ball will give Charl the maximum competitive advantage on Tour."

Unfortunately the new balls did not help the 2011 Masters champion in his first start of 2020 at this week's South African Open as he went on to miss the cut on 2-under.
Schwartzel opened with a disappointing 73, despite playing one of the shots of the day from an awful plugged lie in the greenside bunker, and he then responded with a 67 on day two but it was too little too late and he missed the cut by two strokes.
Clear Golf's balls retail at $6 per ball ($68 for a dozen), and considers itself as a premium golf brand.
Looking on the Clear Golf website, there are two different models of golf ball in the current 2020 lineup with the softer Clear ES (3-piece) with more feel and control, and the firmer Clear CS (4-piece) with a higher launch angle and more distance.
According to reports, the brand sells directly to consumers while also targeting the pro shops of the top 500 golf clubs in the United States.
Schwartzel will be hoping the balls help him climb the world ladder once again, as he has slipped from 18th in July 2018 to a current 226th position.
Despite an indifferent start with the new ball, Schwartzel has sung the praises of his new supplier.
"The ball is extremely precise and performs beyond expectations," said Schwartzel, who previously had a ball deal with Titleist.
"I’m thrilled to be joining the Clear team and look forward to many successful years playing Clear."
