Mizuno introduce Japanese apparel line-up to Europe for first time

Mizuno has released its Japanese apparel line-up to Europe for the first time in the “Authentic Japanese Collection” for Autumn/Winter 2017.

“European tastes have become more sophisticated to the point where the idea of performance-enhancing apparel is more accepted,” says Aki Shirane, Western Design Office for Mizuno. “A jacket that finds an extra degree of warmth through solar panels is no longer just something that fits the Japanese consumer – we’re all looking for something a little special now.”

Headlining the collection are the Impermalite F20 Rain Jacket and Pants, Mizuno’s most popular waterproof in Japan, tailored from fabrics so light and soft you can happily wear the jacket as a windtop or pack it away into its own compact storage pouch. The breathable Impermalite F20 fabric offers the highest levels of waterproofing (to 20,000mm) for ultimate bad-weather protection and performance, with a Rain Cap also available in the same fabric.

The Jacket – available in Black, Diva blue or Vapor Grey/Navy – features poppered removable arms for those warmer rainy days, a double-closure front zip to seal out the elements, a high-tapered neck for maximum protection and movement, and a two-year waterproof guarantee. The Pants – available in Grey, Black or Navy – feature poppers that allow leg length to be adjusted by up to 4in, belt loops for the look of a tailored trouser, zip pockets that allow access through to normal trousers and a 26cm lateral leg zipper for when you need to get them on in a hurry over golf shoes out on the course.

The AW17 Breath Thermo collection features an extended range of garments, many of which owe their origins to ski-wear designs and engineering, including the Breath Thermo Base Layer and Tights, which not only insulate but also generate new heat using trace amounts of vapour released from the body.

Both are available in Black, while the Breath Thermo Polo is then a heavier-gauge winter shirt for added warmth, available in White, Vapor Blue and Deep Navy.

The Breath Thermo ½ Zip is the ideal lightweight body-warming second layer for the coldest of winter golfing days, while the Breath Thermo Full-Zip Jacket and Full-Zip Gilet are packed with performance, warmth-enhancing technology and style.

They both feature: Mizuno’s lightweight TechFill material which maintains padding volume and performance for longer; Mizuno Move Tech, which allows you to swing freely via key strategic stretch points; and a soft-touch neck-warmer panel for added protection

where the heat is most likely to escape. The Gilet also features a Thermal Storage Print, which converts UV and Infrared rays into more heat. Both are available in Black and Peacoat, with the Jacket also available in Vapor Blue, and the Gilet in Tornado and Chili Pepper.

Completing the high-tech ‘Authentic Japan Collection’ AW17 apparel line-up are the Tech Shield Jacket and Move Tech Trouser.

The former is a mid-weight wind-protection layer in Black or Deep Navy featuring a knitted material that combines high levels of weather-proofing with stretchability to help you swing freely still even when seeking extra protection from the elements. The latter is a premium fleece-lined trouser in Black, Peacoat or Chili Pepper featuring a hint of stretch for the crispest of winter mornings, and soft-touch pocket liners to provide a welcome warm haven for cold hands.

For the finishing touches, the Mizuno AW17 apparel collection also features a Nova Triwarmer, three different belt options – Logo Leather, Webbed or Reversible – in a range of colours, plus a Breath Thermo Beanie in four multi-coloured options.
