Reebok's Club C 85 Golf brings an '80s sneaker icon to the course

The hottest new name in the golf scene draws upon its rich heritage to create a golf sneaker with the Bryson Dechambeau seal of approval.

Reebok is determined to make a seriously big splash in its re-entry into the golf scene.

Since returning to the sport a few months ago with Bryson DeChambeau as its face, the British-founded, American-owned brand has signed on as the main apparel partner of DeChambeau's Crushers GC LIV team, released a sellout collaboration with cult golfwear upstart Manors, and hit the market in a big way with the gym-derived Nano X Golf: a shoe we were seriously impressed by.

But while much of the brand's recent history has been defined by its affiliation with performance athletes and fitness movements like CrossFit, the last couple of years have seen the brand lean more heavily into its heritage as a maker of classic sneakers and vintage sportswear.

As such, it was only fitting that the Club C tennis shoe—perhaps the most beloved Reebok sneaker of all—would be next in line for a course-ready flip.

Reebok teased that the Club C might be on its way to the golf market earlier this year, making the shoe the centrepiece of its rebellious collab with Manors Golf. But while their spin on the Club C was decidedly more street-focused, the Club C golf now available is much more attuned to a life on the links.

The classic full-grain leather construction of the Club C sneaker has been refined to provide more water resistance, while the outsole is upgraded with a 6mm spikeless traction pattern to provide ample grip regardless of conditions.

Some subtle, welcome nods to the Club C's heritage are also present, notably the return of the terry towel collar that Reebok's '80s workout sneakers used to be renowned for.

Already, the Club C Golf has caught the eyes of Reebok's growing band of tour pros—notably Bryson DeChambeau, who gave the shoe a glowing review upon its reveal. "The Club C Golf is the perfect option for those looking for premium performance support, while also looking good post-match," he said.

The price will also no doubt keep people on the hunt for a trendy, budget-minded golf shoe happy: the Club C Golf retails for just $100.

The Reebok Club C golf is available now through Reebok USA, with a UK launch planned for the coming Autumn. GolfMagic has been lucky enough to get hands on a pair, however, so keep your eyes peeled for a full review to come shortly.
