Caddie says lay up, Hoffman says "No, I'm trying to win a golf tournament"
Watch Charley Hoffman reject his caddie's advice, then play a golf shot like an absolute boss.
Three strokes down with three holes to play, Charley Hoffman knew exactly what he was about to do as he stood over his second shot to the par-5 16th some 280 yards away in the intermediate rough alongside his caddie Brett Waldman.
With Waldman thinking of his 10% pay cheque and asking his man to lay up, Hoffman was thinking of silverware - something that has escaped him since April 2016, despite locking up six top-five finishes on the PGA Tour this season.

"I'm three back with three to play," Hoffman is seen telling his caddie. "I mean I'm trying to win a golf tournament. I'm tired of finishing second."

Unfortunately for the four-time PGA Tour winner it was all to little avail as he failed to get up-and-down for a much-needed birdie, and he ended up finishing in third six strokes behind eventual winner Hideki Matsuyama who birdied the final three holes to tie the Firestone course record of 9-under 61.
It may have been another agonising week for Hoffman, but his third place finish at the WGC Bridgestone continued his hot trend on Tour as he racked up his third top-three finish in his last five starts.
