England enjoyed a standout week at the 2025 Justin Rose Telegraph Junior Golf Championship as Lauren Crump and Charlie Rusbridge claimed the girls’ and boys’ titles respectively at Quinta do Lago, Portugal.

England Golf Girls’ Squad star Lauren Crump delivered a commanding performance to lift the girls’ trophy, completing rounds of 70, 71 and 71 to finish six shots clear of runner-up Zoe McLean-Tattan.

The 16-year-old entered the final round with the lead after two composed opening days, and despite an early setback with a bogey, she quickly reasserted control. Crump eagled the par-5 5th before igniting her round with four consecutive birdies from holes 14 to 17, pulling clear of the field to secure yet another major junior title.

Her win caps a remarkable year in which she completed back-to-back victories at both the English Girls’ Championship and the English Women’s County Champion of Champions.

Reflecting on her triumph, Crump said: “This is such an amazing way to finish off 2025. I'm really proud to have won this, and it sits at the top of all I have achieved this year. It’s been the highlight of the year.

“I was still quite tentative for a lot of the front nine, however I managed to get it together on the back nine. After the birdie on 14, I said to myself I want more, and knowing that there was a par-5 and a couple of the easier par-4s, I said that we’ve got this!”

England’s strong showing continued with Charlotte Naughton, who secured third place, while teammate Daisy Lee finished fifth.

Rusbridge achieves historic back-to-back boys’ titles

On the boys’ side, Charlie Rusbridge became a rare back-to-back champion after another polished display at Quinta do Lago. The 17-year-old Essex talent, who also lifted the title in 2024, carded rounds of 73, 70, and a closing 69 to finish 4-under — three shots clear of Scotland’s Kai Laing.

Rusbridge began the final round with a four-shot advantage and wasted no time reinforcing his lead, reeling off four birdies on the front nine to put the result beyond doubt.

Speaking after his win, he admitted that defending the title came with pressure: "It was a bit more stressful this year! But it feels really cool to get the win. I was definitely being chased down today. I missed a small putt on the 2nd and then as I put my score in on the 4th tee I saw that John [Doyle] was 4-under through five and we were level on the leaderboard, which I wasn't expecting.

"But I made three birdies in a row from there which was cool, pulling it out of the bag like that when I needed to. It is nice to know I can do that! I just kept trying to do the same things I'd been doing all week and trying not to force anything. I knew I was playing nicely and doing some good things and it was nice for it to all come together at once.

"I said before this tournament that I'd love to be the first person to ever win three of these tournaments in a row, so that now feels a bit more realistic. But for now I'll just enjoy this win. It's been a tough year for me actually. I won early on in France but not much since so it's been more of a learning year for me - but to finish the year like this is pretty cool."

England’s Thomas Hartshorne (Teesside) produced a strong final push to claim fourth, six behind Rusbridge. He was followed by Ben Sessions (Bishop’s Stortford) and Justin Chenu (Rochester & Cobham), who shared tied fifth, with Alex Boyes taking seventh.
