Sky Sports agrees extended US Open deal

The US Open will remain exclusively live on Sky Sports until 2030.

Sky Sports have agreed a new five-year deal with the United States Golf Association (USGA) to continue broadcasting the US Open until 2030.

The men's and women's US Opens headline the major USGA events that will be screened exclusively live in the UK and Ireland by Sky Sports, which also remains the home of the US Senior Open, the US Amateur Championships and the Curtis Cup.

JJ Spaun will defend the men's US Open title at Shinnecock Hills in June next year, a fortnight after Riviera Country Club hosts the US Women's Open with Maja Stark looking to become the first back-to-back winner for 25 years.

A statement released by Sky Sports read: "Sky and the United States Golf Association (USGA) have announced a five-year broadcast extension that will see Sky Sports and NOW remain the exclusive home of the US Open Championship in the UK and Ireland until the end of 2030.

"The new partnership includes the next five editions of both the US Open, the third of the four men’s major championships, and the US Women’s Open, the oldest of the LPGA Tour’s five majors.  

"Sky Sports will continue to show live coverage of the US Amateur Championship and US Women's Amateur Championship, the US Senior Open, and the prestigious Curtis Cup match between the United States and Great Britain and Ireland.

"Sky Sports is the home of golf in the UK and Ireland, showcasing the sport's biggest moments all year round, including all four men’s majors and all five women’s majors exclusively live. 

"Fans can also enjoy coverage of the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, LPGA Tour, and Ladies European Tour, alongside team events such as the Solheim Cup and this year’s highly anticipated Ryder Cup in September.

"Golf coverage on Sky Sports combines expert analysis, compelling storytelling, and cutting-edge technology to bring fans closer to the action, with continued innovation including golf’s world-first Spidercam debut at The Open at Royal Portrush."
